Quirky Quarter celebrates five years with new immersive spaces

Quirky Quarter is celebrating five years in Liverpool with a series of new immersive additions, refreshed spaces and expanded event capabilities.

Since opening its doors in early 2020, Quirky Quarter has become one of the city’s most unique visitor attractions, offering a hands-on, illusion-led experience filled with unexpected moments, interactive challenges and social, shareable fun.

Founded by a group of friends led by Merseyside-born David Hartshorn, the concept was built on one simple idea… To create a space where adults can play again.

After years spent travelling the world, David always returned to Liverpool, drawn back by its energy, creativity and unmistakable character. When the idea for Quirky Quarter was first discussed, there was no question where it should be. It had to be Liverpool.

Despite launching just weeks before the world shut down, the team adapted, evolved and continued to invest in the experience, with the city’s support helping shape what Quirky Quarter has become today.

Five years on, the attraction now spans over 12,000 sqft and continues to grow as a living, ever-evolving space, attracting guests of all ages seeking a completely different experience.

At the heart of the latest updates is a brand new immersive mirrored room, designed and built entirely in-house. Featuring mirrored walls and ceilings combined with ever-changing digital projections, the space creates a fully immersive, visually striking experience unlike anything else in the venue.

Alongside the attraction itself, Quirky Quarter has significantly expanded its events offering. The venue now includes a dedicated conference and event space, alongside a new signature room that can host up to 50 seated guests or 80 standing.

With over 12,000 sq ft of flexible space, a bar and lounge area, and fully immersive surroundings, Quirky Quarter is now able to host everything from corporate events and brand activations to weddings, private parties and creative showcases.

Elsewhere, visitors will discover a refreshed layout designed to improve flow and elevate the overall journey, alongside new illusion artworks created by local artists, upgraded lighting and enhanced visual effects that bring each installation to life.

True to its nature, Quirky Quarter continues to evolve regularly, with installations, window displays and creative features updated to ensure there is always something new to discover, particularly in line with key calendar and city events.

The venue’s continued success has also been recognised globally, with Quirky Quarter recently awarded the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2025, placing it in the top 10% of attractions worldwide. It currently holds a 4.9 rating on Tripadvisor and 4.8 on Google.
