Red Run wins national entrepreneur award
Popular Liverpool brand Red Run has won the High Growth award at the prestigious Barclays Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
A national awards that recognises successful entrepreneurs from across the UK, Barclays’ Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are renowned for honouring well-deserving businesspeople who are making waves in their industries.
The only Liverpool business to win, Red Run took home the High Growth award; a category that recognises entrepreneurs that have achieved year on year growth and/or market traction. The judges were looking for disruptive ventures with strong management teams.
Founded by Creative Director Megan Kimmance, 35, and Abby Adderley, 39, both from Crosby in 2020 during lockdown, Red Run has proven its high growth status through its considerable growth year on year, first opening on Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock before its flagship Liverpool ONE store, including huge partnerships with both Tessuti and Flannels.
Red Run opened their flagship Liverpool ONE store last year and has continued to expand and develop its collections, becoming the go-to athleisure brand for trend-led streetwear that is created in-house using the highest quality fabrics inspired by retro and nostalgic fashion.
Red Run has been honoured for its high growth credentials in the awards, fighting off stiff competition from Alto, Finboot, Uptitude, Goal 17, Pop-tastic, The Installation Assurance Authority Commercial Services and Wander.
In other categories, Samantha Faiers’ Revive Collagen, Magnus Marine and Tembo were also shortlisted.
The High Growth category was sponsored by Propel Finance and together with Barclays, they judged the category and selected Red Run for its impressive success to date.
Both Megan and Abby attended the awards ceremony in London where they were honoured.
Megan explained: “It was absolutely amazing to sit alongside so many national brands that are hugely successful and for Red Run to come away with an award was an incredible moment. The brand was born out of a passion for activewear that bridges the gap with trend-led fashion and in the last four years, we’ve put our heart and soul into creating pieces for our community that we’re so proud of that are of the highest quality with each piece being created and designed in-house by myself and our talented team.
“Winning the High Growth award and being recognised for our efforts, growth and development of Red Run was such a pivotal moment for us and the perfect way to end 2024. Next year is set to be monumental, with a very exciting announcement coming in early 2025. We strive to continue further developing the brand and maintaining our high growth status.
“We just want to take a moment to thank each and every person who shops with Red Run and believes in the brand, we couldn’t do any of this without you and we’re so grateful for your support.”
