Roman-Themed Activity Park in Liverpool Wins Independent Tourism Business of the Year for Sustainable and Authentic Experience
2 years ago
A Roman-themed activity park located in a secret wooded location has been making waves in the tourism industry, winning the Independent Tourism Business of the Year at this year’s Liverpool Tourism Awards.
Their brand new activity park, which spans 75,000 square feet, is entirely powered by sustainable, environmentally friendly methods and does not use any electricity or fuel to run.
This unique feature of the park provides visitors with a chance to step back in time for a truly authentic experience while also being mindful of their environmental impact.
Their commitment to the environment took an even greater leap this year too, when they changed their policy on people arriving by car saving around 222k grams of CO2 entering the atmosphere per week (a total of approximately 7.7m during their operating season!).
Cars have been replaced by an electric coach service which runs from the World Museum, Liverpool and transports people to and from their secret woodland location.
Guests are transported back to AD43, where they will find a Roman invasion. They are captured and taken to a little known Roman encampment in the woods. But, they are in luck! Instead of being thrown to the wolves, they are given a lifeline. A chance to win their FREEDOM!
This comes in the form of some of the most hilarious roman themed games and challenges you can imagine and is brought together using captivating storytelling, live actors, and gruesome props.
“We are thrilled to be receiving such positive feedback from our guests and to honoured to have been recognised within our industry with the LCRT Award” said park owner Joe Clarke
âThe Romans brings to life one of the most fascinating times in history. It allows guests to step back in time and walk in the footsteps of Gladiators. To forget about the outside world for a little bit and have some brutally good funâ
The Romans won the Independent Tourism Business of the Year at the Liverpool Tourism Awards and has received rave reviews from visitors on Tripadvisor, who have praised the park’s attention to detail and the fun and friendly staff.
