Royal Albert Dock is getting ready to throw a Pride party this Saturday and everyone’s invited to join the fun for free.

On Saturday 26 July from 1pm to 4.30pm, Anchor Courtyard will be buzzing with high-energy DJ sets and pop-up performances as the dock teams up with local legends Sonic Yootha and Invisible Wind Factory to celebrate Pride in style.

The courtyard, tucked away on the corner of Gower Street and Salthouse Quay, will be decked out with colourful bunting and bright cabin makeovers thanks to the creative team at Invisible Wind Factory. Sonic Yootha will bring the feel-good anthems, turning the open-air space into an inclusive dancefloor for everyone.

Expect sets from Sonic Yootha’s resident favourites, including WMNKND, who’s already had the dock bouncing at past Pride pop-ups. To keep the party moving, a bike sound system, built by Invisible Wind Factory and Peloton Liverpool, will cruise around the inner quay from 2pm to 4pm. Sonic Yootha’s drag queen Jackie J will be along for the ride too, ready to pose for selfies and spread plenty of Pride joy wherever she goes.

It wouldn’t be a party without something tasty to go with the tunes. Dockside bars and cafés will be serving special menus and summer drinks from midday to 5pm. The One O’Clock Gun will be mixing up frozen sangrias and ice-cold beers while Francie’s Focaccia and Coffee will have sweet Italian treats and refreshing lemon coolers.

More Pride fun will spill into other venues around the dock. Revolution will be throwing a Pride Day Party from 1.30pm with a limited-edition Long Island Iced Queen cocktail and donations going to Stonewall UK. Over at Revolución de Cuba, you can get into the Latin spirit with live Cuban music and an Absolute Queen cocktail created just for the day.

Sean Morrison, estate manager at Royal Albert Dock, said: “We’re so excited to team up with Sonic Yootha and Invisible Wind Factory for an event that’s all about celebrating inclusivity, community and Pride. Whether you’re coming down after the march or just want to enjoy the atmosphere, everyone’s welcome.”

With music, drag, great food and drink and plenty of colour, Royal Albert Dock is ready to be one of the best spots in the city to celebrate Pride this weekend.
