Sapporo unveils new private dining space
Sapporo, Liverpool’s first and only teppanyaki restaurant, has unveiled a new luxury space that’s perfect for private dining and intimate events, pre and post dinner drinks and where guests can tuck into sushi and Japanese small plates.
The beautiful new conservatory has created a further offering for Sapporo which is renowned for its teppanyaki style dining. Guests who don’t want to experience a full teppanyaki show can relax in the new space whilst enjoying its handcrafted sushi by their talented chefs.
The new conservatory has been decked out in natural hues, beautiful wooden tables and chairs and booth-style seating, as well as an enormous bonsai tree that’s adorned in rattan fan shaped ceiling light pendants.
Based on Japanese interior design with clean lines, natural palettes and minimalist style, Sapporo has created an additional space, catering for a further 25 guests, that’s fresh, open and contemporary, yet still timeless.
Adjoining the space is also a newly refurbished relaxing lounge area seating 35.
Opening in November 2003, on Duke Street in Liverpool, Sapporo has become a staple for Japanese cuisine, with the team celebrating an incredible 20 years in the city last year.
The main restaurant, which is home to 12 traditional teppanyaki tables where Sapporo’s chefs delight guests with live cooking, has been refurbished along with the creation of the conservatory area after £100,000 investment.
In line with the unveiling of the new conservatory, Sapporo has created an exciting Happy Hour of 2-4-1 cocktails that guests can enjoy in the new space as well as £5 sushi rolls from Sunday to Thursday 5-7pm.
Guests can also tuck into Sapporo’s delicious small plates and other sushi dishes including sashimi, nigiri and temaki as well as the full signature A La Carte menu that will be served directly from the kitchen rather than at the teppanyaki grill.
Guests that choose to enjoy the A La Carte menu dishes in the lounge or conservatory area will receive 10% off their food.
The new conservatory space has also enabled Sapporo to offer exciting sushi making masterclasses for novices and aficionados alike, with the knowledgeable chefs showing those taking part how to carefully craft authentic sushi.
Jesny Chong, General Manager at Sapporo, explained:
“Celebrating 20 years in Liverpool was an outstanding achievement for us and with that marked a new era for Sapporo. We’re renowned for welcoming families, groups of friends and families and couples alike, and we wanted to create an additional, beautiful space that is relaxed, welcoming and offers our guests a different experience.
“From the light and airy feel of the new space, to the beautiful Japanese-style furnishings, it’s a true extension of Sapporo where guests can sip on our signature cocktail menu, or tuck into light bites including sushi and small plates, or where they can enjoy the full A La Carte experience.
“Seating 25, it’s the perfect space for private hire where guests can celebrate baby showers, intimate weddings, birthday celebrations, christenings and more. And we’ve just launched our first sushi masterclasses where those taking part can get a true sense of how our chefs handcraft Sapporo’s rolls and nigiri. We can’t wait to welcome you all.”
