Scruffy Murphy’s are offering free ‘Klopp’ Guinness during his final game as Liverpool Manager
7 months ago
Where were you on Friday 26th January when Jurgen Norbert Klopp announced he would be leaving Liverpool Football Club at the end of the season, after being in the hot seat since 2015?
It was a sad day for football fans and especially fans of the red side of the city. Klopp has not only brought 8 trophies to LFC in his 8.5 years at the club, but he has also bought into the city and its people in a big way. The “Normal One” as he said of himself when he took over. To celebrate his last ever home game of the season as manager on Sunday 19th May, as Liverpool take on Wolves, Scruffy Murphy on Harrington Street will be giving away free Klopp Selfie Pints of Guinness to its customers!
Scruffy Murphy’s on Harrington Street and also on Rainford Gardens ( Mathew Street ) teamed up with Ripples earlier this year to offer fans of Guinness, the chance to add their favourite picture/selfie on their pint of the black stuff !
The selfie in foam is made with a natural malt extract that is added to the top of the beer. The visage, made of malt, is drinkable and shouldn’t hinder the iconic flavour of your Guinness. The gimmick is made possible by Ripples technology, which uses 3D printer mechanics with ink jet printing. The most popular picture by far has been of Klopp himself.
Harrison’s Group Business Development Manager Nicola Halton said:
“The news of Jurgen Klopp leaving LFC was a sad day for all Reds fans. We are a mixed bag of both Liverpool and Everton fans at the Harrisons Bar Group. But we all agree on the impact the larger than life character Jurgen Klopp has had for the city of Liverpool as well as the Premier League as a whole. He will be a hard act to follow and greatly missed. We decided to do something different for his final home game and thought what better than free Klopp Guinness”
