Soulside Music Festival brings summer soul and disco vibes to BOXPARK Liverpool
23 hours ago

Get ready to boogie – Soulside Music Festival is back in the city this July and it’s bringing some serious Motown and disco legends with it.
The Summer Soirée Soulside, takes over BOXPARK Liverpool on Saturday 12 July, and this year’s line-up is packed with iconic artists, legendary tunes and non-stop good vibes.
Headlining the festival are 70s chart-toppers Heatwave, the band behind dancefloor classic Boogie Nights, along with American soul icon George McCrae, best known for his smooth anthem Rock Your Baby.
It’s only the second ever Soulside event, but it’s already making a name for itself after a sell-out debut last November that saw nearly 2,000 fans fill BOXPARK for a night of live music from The Real Thing, Odyssey and Drifters star Ray Lewis.

This summer’s edition promises to be even bigger, with a mix of live soul, disco and Motown favourites, high-energy tributes, and Liverpool talent sharing the stage.
Powerhouse vocalist Angie Brown will be raising the roof with her huge voice and stage presence, while tributes to Tina Turner and Lionel Richie are set to bring all the classics you know and love.
Homegrown artists Billy Strand and Dance Inc will also be performing, and the whole day will be hosted by Soulside organiser and local favourite Gary Barker, who wowed the nation on The X Factor back in 2017.
If that’s not enough, there’ll be DJ sets from Liverpool’s own Charlie Cee and Ant Chandler of Paradisco, and brand new for this year – the BOXPARK Music Garden is being transformed into Soulside’s RnB Garden, with an old skool mix of RnB, hip hop, garage and more from a line-up of DJs and some surprise guest appearances.
Gary says the festival is all about bringing joy through the music he grew up with.
“I just love soul, disco and Motown – it’s in my blood – and that’s exactly what Soulside is all about. It’s an eight-hour celebration of amazing music, incredible artists and a proper feel-good atmosphere you just don’t get anywhere else in the city.”

He added: “To have acts like Heatwave on the bill is huge – the last time they played Liverpool was at the M&S Bank Arena, and now fans will get to see them up close in a much more intimate venue. It’s going to be unforgettable.”
Tickets start at £25, and with a line-up like this, they won’t hang around.
