Sound City announces huge conference programme for Sound City+
2 years ago
Established as the definitive new music discovery weekend that points the way to the future of the music industry we know today, Sound City has announced details of its revered and influential Sound City+ Conference for 2021.
Taking place across the Sound City weekend as the UK’s Leading Independent Conference For New Music welcomes the music industry back to Liverpool, Sound City+ is an unrivalled conference weekend full of cutting-edge discussions, insightful panels & debates and the perfect melting pot for influential industry leaders to come together to learn and discuss the future trends and paths coming to shape the wider music world.
Its 2019 edition saw over 2,000 delegates converge on the city, with over 90 different speakers for over 30 countries bringing their knowledge and learnings to the conference – for a unique opportunity of global collaboration and discussion.
The Sound City+ return in 2021 is no different. Over the past 18 months the music industry has been forced to adapt, grow and rebuild in many areas – prompting newfound challenges, opportunities and discussion points that will be explored across the conference’s three days. Tackling the biggest issues affecting the industry, with insight from incredible names across different sectors – Sound City+ is the essential conference for those looking to what comes next for artists and industry, and how we can all implement real change to get there.
Jo Whitty, Sound City+ Director said:
“We could not be more delighted to announce the return of Sound City+
This year we were determined to go bigger than ever, which is why we’re thrilled to partner with AIM to continue our mission to support, inspire and facilitate new business for our delegates across all levels of experience, from the cutting-edge innovators and execs to those simply looking for a place to get started.
If one positive has come out of the past turbulent 2 years it has been the new relationships that have been brought together through solidarity.
Most of all we are incredibly excited to see all our friends, new and old, come together in person.”
Co-curated by the revered AIM (Association Of Independent Music), the Sound City+ Conference Programme includes appearances from speakers across a wide array of leading industry names – including Spotify, YouTube, Black Lives Collective, Beggars Group, VEVO, Ninja Tune and many more. With partners including Keychange (continuing Sound City’s partnership as the lead UK festival for Keychange), Yamaha, YM&U, BPI, PPL, PRS, Horus Music, PPL Momentum Music Fund, size? and more – it ensures Sound City is at the very forefront of those key conversations – with a key focus on how the industry is implementing real change and leading us into a landscape where equality, diversity and opportunity is standard across the music industry.
