One of the most spectacular weekends in the North West’s summer calendar is back this August as Southport Air Show prepares for another year of jaw-dropping displays above the Irish Sea.
Southport Air Show takes place on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August, the two-day event will see thousands of visitors flock to the Southport seafront to experience some of the most thrilling aviation performances in the UK.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the coastline, the skies above the town will be packed with military flypasts, historic aircraft and gravity-defying aerobatics, promising a packed programme of entertainment for all ages.

From the roar of the Typhoon to the elegant formation of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, this year’s line-up is already shaping up to be one of the best yet.
The Red Devils may not be taking part this year, but fans can look forward to plenty of edge-of-your-seat moments from acts including the Falcons Parachute Display Team, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, Richard Goodwin’s Jet Pitts, and the Great War Display Team.
Also joining the aerial action will be the Tutor, Sea King, L-39 Albatros, DH Vampire, Navywings Swordfish, Melanie Astles in the Extra 330, Rolls Royce Spitfire XIX, the Strikemaster Pair, Jet Provost and more.
And it’s not just about what’s happening in the sky. There’s loads to enjoy on the ground too, from interactive exhibitions and family-friendly activities to a wide choice of food and drink across the site.

Councillor Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said:
“The Southport Air Show is one of the highlights of the year for aviation fans, families and visitors of all ages. I’d really encourage people to get their tickets now as demand is always sky-high.
There’s a fantastic atmosphere right across the weekend and when the flying finishes, the town centre is only a short walk away with plenty of great places to eat, drink and explore.”
