Victoria Park was packed with people, live music and delicious smells over the weekend as the Southport Food and Drink Festival 2025 served up a huge helping of fun in the sun.

From Friday 30 May to Sunday 1 June, more than 100 traders took over Victoria park to showcase everything from sizzling street food and indulgent sweet treats to artisan drinks and handmade goods — many of them from right here in the region. It was a weekend full of flavour, with something for every taste and appetite.

New for this year was the Experience Marquee — a special space offering bookable sessions that added an extra layer to the festival. Visitors got the chance to try out hands-on experiences, from cooking demos to tastings, making this year’s event even more interactive.

Foodies from across the north west turned out to soak up the atmosphere. With live music, family entertainment and stalls around every corner, the three-day celebration once again proved why it’s one of Southport’s most anticipated annual events.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s cabinet member for regeneration and skills, said:

“The food and drink festival is always a highlight of Southport’s calendar, and this year it was brilliant to see the park buzzing with energy. People were discovering new favourites, enjoying time with friends and family, and supporting independent traders.

“It’s events like this that really benefit the town — our cafes, shops and restaurants see the boost, and it gives small local businesses the chance to reach thousands of new customers.”

She added: “A huge thank you to our tourism team and everyone involved in making it such a success. The feedback has been incredible, and I can’t wait to see what’s planned for 2026.”

With the food festival now wrapped up for another year, attention turns to what’s next on Southport’s growing events calendar. The ever-popular Southport Air Show returns in August, followed by the spectacular British Musical Fireworks Championship in September.

Cllr Lappin said:

“Southport’s events season is only just beginning. The air show is always an incredible weekend with flying displays, hands-on exhibits and entertainment for all ages. If you haven’t booked tickets yet — don’t miss out.”
