The fundraising event at Southport Pleasureland has been created in the wake of the tragic events that took place in Southport.
Southport Pleasureland, in collaboration with the Royal British Legion, has announced a special fundraising event on September 1, featuring the popular North West band, The Lilacs.
Known for their electrifying performances at iconic venues like Manchester’s Albert Hall and the Isle of Wight Festival, The Lilacs have amassed over half a million streams worldwide.
The Wigan-based band has a dedicated following and is set to captivate the audience at Southport with their high-energy indie sound.
Nick McEntee of the Royal British Legion said:
“We’re delighted that The Lilacs will be joining us to help raise money for our local hospitals and North West Air Ambulance. This is such an important event, and we have been so grateful at the support we’ve had from our local community and further afield.”
In addition to the high energy Indie stylings of The Lilacs, there will be something for every musical taste on the bill on the 1st September.
Bands and singers will keep visitors entertained throughout the day with a huge range of music, from Country Folk, to Rock, to Motown and more.
As well as the musical talent throughout the day, and a range of other entertainment which will soon be revealed, ticket holders can enjoy full access to all the attractions at Pleasureland – jump on the Waltzer on The Cartoon Boardwalk, splash down on Loki’s Log Flume in Viking Landing, or test your nerves on The Enigma in Steampunk Bay!
Norman Wallis, CEO of Southport Pleasureland, said:
“Over the last few years, we’ve put a lot of work into creating a beautiful park that offers a fun escape for families right in the heart of Southport.
“Pleasureland is such an integral part of Southport’s economy and identity, and I am incredibly proud that Pleasureland will host this event as part of the efforts to raise ÂŁ1M for these important causes.”
