Southport restaurant Trattoria 51 to be revamped as work starts on Marine Lake Events Centre
1 year ago
The popular family-owned Italian eatery has been firmly established on Southport’s Promenade for 20 years, celebrating two decades in business this year.
Trattoria 51 restaurant in Southport is due to undergo a substantial refurbishment that will delight diners.
It will be temporarily closing from Monday 11 September while the venue is given a fresh new look.
We have been told that the revamp to the kitchen, restaurant, bar and terrace will see Trattoria 51 transformed into a space that’s not just intended to be visually stunning but designed to entertain.
The venue is scheduled to return in early 2024.
The refurbishment has been timed to coincide with the start of the construction of the new £73 million Marine Lake Event Centre and the Light Fantastic water and light show opposite.
Trattoria 51 owner Atilio Sergi said:
“We are looking forward to Trattoria 51 returning soon offering a new menu of authentic Puglian cuisine with our trademark friendly Italian welcome!
“We are looking forward to making some exciting changes to our offering at the restaurant which will include the ability to make our famous fresh pasta in our kitchen here, as well as fresh mozzarella cheese.
“The timing is perfect given the development of the new Marine Lake Events Centre opposite starting now.
“The creation of the new centre is incredibly exciting for Southport.
“The restaurant is perfectly situated to be the best place in town when the new facility opens, and now is the perfect time to invest to ensure our restaurant is the very best it can be.
“We are currently working closely with officers from Sefton Council to ensure everything we need is in place.
“Our sister restaurant on Old Hall Street Liverpool together with our Pasta 51 kitchen in Southport Market and our Italian Street food kitchen in St John’s Liverpool will continue to welcome you whilst the Southport venue is refurbished so you can continue to access our much loved Italian cooking.
“We look forward to welcoming all of our loyal and new customers once the refurbished venue reopens in early 2024.”
