The event which brings together a host of cars – of all shapes, sizes and engines – is all in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Over the weekend, visitors can pay for a ride out in one of the different cars available, starting with a spin down the strand. All money raised from the ride bookings will be donated to Claire House.
Last year, Sporting Bears Dream Rides raised a grand total of £9,816 for the local children’s hospice from all the ride bookings and donations over the weekend.
Alongside the cars which visitors can have a drive out in, there are also a selection of static cars. This will include KITT, the Knight Rider car, who will be stationed near the Maritime Museum at the Royal Albert Dock.
Optimus Prime will even be taking time out of transforming to come down and visit on the Saturday, especially after the reception he got last year.
Speaking on the Dream Rides event, Loren Miller, Community Fundraiser at Claire House, said: “Everyone here at Claire House is so happy that Sporting Bears are once again fundraising for the hospice at their fantastic event. All of the volunteers and car owners work so hard to make this a real fun family event, and a must for car lovers!
“Last year was a huge success with over £9800 raised, which made a big difference to our children and families. Without groups like Sporting Bears, we wouldn’t be able to continue working toward our dream to support every child that needs us. We can’t wait for another fun filled weekend!”
Rides can be booked on each day from 10am, with Sporting Bears advising people to get there early so as not to be disappointed after all the rides sold out last year.
All money raised over the weekend will enable Claire House to continue providing the dedicated care the children and families it supports so desperately need.
