The story of the ‘coat of many colours’ is back in the North West to wow theatre goers of all ages with fabulous costumes, rousing songs and a classic tale which has enjoyed multiple award nominations and wins since its original Broadway production in 1982.
In a role made famous by both Jason Donovan and Philip Schofield, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley and cast bring this moving, family friendly story, told in song, back to St Helens Theatre Royal from Tuesday 19th – Saturday 23rd November 2019.
New for 2019 is additional choreography by sought-after creative director Gary Lloyd, who worked with some of the world’s biggest artists’ live performances and arena tours including Sir Paul McCartney; Sir Cliff Richard; Dame Shirley Bassey; Sir Tom Jones and more recently Kelly Clarkson; Leona Lewis; Robbie Williams and Pink.
Lloyd’s dynamic new material is combined with Henry Metcalf’s original choreography, refreshing this family favourite while retaining its trademark style and integrity.
Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is full of life and colour, and features unforgettable hit songs including Go, Go, Go Joseph, Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door To Me.
St Helens Theatre Royal Manager, Chantelle Nolan, said: “We can’t wait to welcome back Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat to St Helens. This fantastic production and its incredibly talented cast are guaranteed to entertain the whole family.”
