Happiness is only a heartbeat away as beloved pop sensations STEPS take centre stage in their very own musical, “Here and Now.” This autumn, get ready for a journey of nostalgia, laughter, and unforgettable tunes!
The STEPS musical “Here and Now” follows the adventures of four friends amidst the aisles of a seaside superstore, promising a whirlwind of surprises, romance, and community spirit.
“We’ve been lucky to do many things together as a band, but the question we get asked again and again is “where is the Steps musical?” Well…it’s finally here and we couldn’t be more excited.
“We’ve searched for the perfect story for our music and we’ve found it in the aisle of a seaside superstore where four friends set out on their own Summer of Love.
“It’s a story of friendship, romance and community: packed with our biggest hits and sure to have everybody laughing, crying and dancing in the aisles. We can’t wait to open the doors this year, and see you there!”
Ian H Watkins added on social media:
“I cannot wait to show you what we have been working on! Launching at [Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre] 9-24 November… Next step, The West End!”
Packed with STEPS’ chart-topping hits like “Tragedy,” “Stomp,” “One For Sorrow,” and “5,6,7,8,” this musical extravaganza is sure to have you dancing in the aisles!
Produced by the band themselves, along with theatre company ROYO and music mogul Pete Waterman, “Here and Now” is a must-see event for fans old and new.
With a stellar creative team including renowned choreographer Matt Cole and a lineup of talented performers, this musical promises an unforgettable night of entertainment.
Here’s what the show is all about:
“Welcome to seaside superstore Better Best Bargains, where it’s Friday night, the vibe is right, and everyone’s dancing in the aisles. But when Caz discovers the shelves are stocked with lies and betrayal, the summer of love she and her friends dreamed of suddenly feels like a tragedy. Have they all lost their chance of a ‘happy ever after’? Or does love have other plans in store…?”
The production is set to open at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre, so mark your calendars for November 9 to 24, 2024, and secure your tickets early for this sensational musical experience. Don’t miss your chance to relive the magic of Steps and create new memories with friends and family!
Tickets go on sale February 9, 2024. Don’t miss out – book your seats and get ready to sing along to your favourite STEPS hits live on stage!
We are hoping that the production eventually comes to Liverpool, but as it is the early stages nothing is certain at the moment… It’d be a Tragedy if it didn’t… but this one might be worth a trip.
