Advertorial

Finding somewhere good to eat before a theatre visit can sometimes seem like a right performance in itself.
Is it close enough to the theatre to avoid a race across town to take your seats on time? Could it be curtains down on dessert if the service isn’t quite on cue? Thankfully there’s no need for any drama if you’re heading to the Empire Theatre in Lime Street, because the Stoke restaurant at Radisson RED is ready to offer the best seats in the city and a theatre menu that deserves a standing ovation.
So if you’re going to see a show at the Empire any time soon, here’s why you need to book:
What is Radisson RED?
Created in the 19th century former North Western Hall with gothic-style turrets and period features, Radisson RED hotel’s steeped in history – but if you think that means stuffy, think again. Radisson RED is a unique take on a well-known brand and while still offering the best, it’s funky, fun and brilliantly bold. It’s home to amazing art which includes a 1960s scooter and sidecar, and a submarine sculpture in honour of The Beatles.
Location
Next door to the Empire on Lime Street you couldn’t get a much closer restaurant and with so few steps between your plate and the production, it means you can allow your food to take centre stage, and sit, relax and chat while you dine. If you’re heading into town by train the convenience gets ramped up a notch still, because there’s a door that leads directly from the station into Radisson RED (even better for the return journey home if you head back for a post-theatre drink!).

What’s on at The Empire
There are so many incredible productions on at the Empire Theatre this summer that you can combine with a double bill delight of Stoke and stage. From now until July 12 Strictly’s Johannes Radebe will be strutting his stuff in the award-winning Kinky Boots, and from July 15-20, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat will be back with X Factor winner Joe McElderry as the roof-raising Pharaoh.
Stoke Restaurant
It’s got spectacular views of St George’s Hall and a stunningly plush interior but Stoke Brasserie & Grill at the Radisson RED Hotel isn’t just about fine dining and romantic meals for two. A fusion of flavours means there’s always variety on the menu and it offers a relaxed atmosphere for everyone with a combination of comfort food and tapas style, as well as gorgeous grills, pastas, and a classic British plate. Theatre goers can book in advance or just walk-in for a warm welcome (which entitles Stoke to a round of applause).
Pre-theatre menu
With great value AND great taste, Stoke’s pre-theatre menu is a five-star production itself. You can choose two courses for £23 or an amazing three courses for just £26. Opening act dishes include calamari or spicy chicken bites, with main shows of fish and chips, pork chop or delicious filled gnocchi. And if you do fancy a grand finale to your meal, then dessert choices like chocolate fudge cake with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream, vanilla cheesecake with forest fruit compote, or sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream – and more – will certainly leave you wanting a repeat performance.
