Sugar & Spice Festival set to return to Port Sunlight this Easter
7 hours ago

A ‘food, drink and little luxuries’ festival is returning to the picturesque village of Port Sunlight this Easter weekend, bringing together over 40 of some of Wirral and Merseyside’s best local makers.
Presented by Port Sunlight Village Trust and award-winning Wirral chocolatier The Chocolate Cellar, the Sugar & Spice Festival will be open to explore on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 April, 11am–4pm. It will take place around the beautiful Diamond landscaped park opposite Port Sunlight Museum, along King George’s Drive, in the centre of the village.
The festival will be completely free to enter and include over 40 stalls where visitors can explore and enjoy a range of flavours from around the world, from sweet and indulgent to spicy and flavourful. From indulgent chocolate and homemade honey to jambalaya and Lebanese breads, the festival will offer something to suit all tastebuds and give visitors the chance to discover something new.
Some of the spicy highlights include the flavours of Namak Kitchen’s Indian and Pakistani delights, Camel’s Hump and their Lebanese Deli and bakery, Pen Y Lan’s hog roast, and the taste of South African Braai by Saffa Soul. Sugary treats are plenty with delicious cakes from Cake House Wirral, churros chocolate with Fab Guys, handcraft chocolates by The Chocolate Cellar and scooped dairy ice cream with Hyacinth.
Visitors will also enjoy a selection of little luxuries on offer from local makers and creators such as illustrations from Katie Tyson, Bee Kind Reimagined’s eco-friendly products and even dogs will be catered for by Central Barkery. Nettle, an independent café opening in Port Sunlight later this spring, will also be there to meet the community.
Also running on the day will be Port Sunlight’s ever-popular Easter trail around the village, this time with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Tickets are £8 each. Pre-booking is essential and numbers are limited, so families are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment. F

Charlene Davies, Learning and Audience Development Manager at Port Sunlight Village Trust, said:
“When we launched the Sugar & Spice Festival in Port Sunlight last year, in partnership with The Chocolate Cellar, we were absolutely blown away by the support and excitement we received with the numbers of people who visited. So, after successful spring and autumn editions in 2024, we’re excited to present the next edition this Easter.
“This year we’re expanding to welcome even more food and drink vendors and artisan stall holders. We’ll also be welcoming face painters, entertainment from the Wirral Poetry Festival, Port Sunlight’s Ukulele Group and Havana Salsa Nights who will be dancing the day away – you may even be able to have a go yourself! There will be plenty to see, do and sink your teeth into this Easter.”
