Swap desk-side dining for alfresco fun with the Lipton Lunch Club in Liverpool
5 months ago
It’s time to swap dining ‘al-desko’ for dining alfresco as the Lipton Lunch Club rolls into Liverpool this summer!
Desk-side dining has become the new norm across Britain’s offices, with looming deadlines, back-to-back meetings, and full inboxes causing lunch breaks to fall off the priority list.
However, Lipton Ice Tea® is on a mission to change this trend with the launch of the Lipton Lunch Club, bringing sunshine and joy to lunchtime together with plant-based cook and successful author, Rachel Ama.
In an effort to help Britons add more joy to their everyday routine, Lipton Ice Tea surveyed 2,000 professionals about their lunch break habits, uncovering some eye-opening statistics.
While 89% understand that taking a break is important, only 18% admit to eating lunch away from their desks, and 60% skip their lunch break at least twice a week.
Seeking a nationwide shift in workplace attitudes, the Lipton Lunch Club aims to help workers take back their midday meal.
Survey findings show that 44% of people are better at taking a lunch break when there is somewhere to go or something to do.
Now the Lipton Lunch Club is touring the UK’s major cities with a spectacular double-decker bus, offering a space to enjoy the sunshine accompanied by complimentary Lipton Ice Tea, fun outdoor games, and a live DJ.
From 2 – 6 July, the Lipton Lunch Club will set up at Paradise Place in Liverpool. This event offers a perfect opportunity for workers to step out of their offices and enjoy a refreshing break.
The benefits of taking a lunch break are numerous, with 50% of survey respondents noting a boosted mood and uplifted energy after leaving their workplace for lunch. Other benefits include increased social interaction, improved wellbeing, and overall enhanced energy.
Phil Thomson, Senior Business Development Director at Lipton Ice Tea, said:
“We are thrilled to bring sunshine to the millions of people who don’t take a midday break and remind them of how refreshed and energised they feel after taking a dedicated lunch break. The launch of the Lipton Lunch Club tour will kick off a great couple of months travelling around the UK, encouraging Britons to make the most of their lunch break to reap the benefits of a boosted mood and increased social wellbeing.”
Joining the Lipton Lunch Club as Head of Lunch is popular plant-based cook and author Rachel Ama. With her hectic work-life schedule and passion for nutritious meals, Rachel understands the importance of taking breaks even on the busiest days.
She is excited to partner with Lipton Ice Tea to bring joy to midday breaks.
Rachel Ama said:
“It is so important to reset yourself throughout the day, mentally and physically. Many of us try to power through the day to achieve as much as possible, but often this doesn’t benefit overall productivity. A simple way I give myself a break through the day is by dedicating time for a lunch break – a mental reset and to refuel the body. I love that you can join Lipton’s lunch club tour over the summer to take that break and enjoy a Lipton Iced Tea.”
At select locations, Lipton Ice Tea will offer a free lunch to a limited number of attendees.
Don’t miss out on the chance to rediscover the benefits of a proper lunch break.
