My Cookie Dough

Are you a little cookie monster? Thought so. My Cookie Dough is another indie recipe for success that started when co-owners Angie and Rickie met as students and went on to open outlets all over the UK. Taking the humble cookie and creating lightly crisp bakes which are perfectly gooey on the inside, their cookie stacks went viral and continue to gather crowds at Liverpool ONE with creations such as The Sl*tty Brownie with Nutella and Oreos, and Kinder Bueno with melted Kinder, crispy wafer pieces and white hazelnut spread.

Coco Baroque

Taking over from another classic in Smithdown Road, Dafna’s Cheesecake Factory, bakers and chocolatier Coco Baroque have stayed true to their promise to honour the legacy of the much-loved former shop adding a range of Basque cheesecakes to the bakes and chocolate freshly made on the premises. After selling at farmers markets and food festivals – which they still do – this is owners Stephen Ellis and Steve Renshaw’s first shop with a bakery and chocolate room to the middle and rear, and at the front takeaway coffees and bakes including brownies, cake slices and pastries (as well as brownies, buttons, chocolate bars and more online). It’s open Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

Walking to Liverpool ONE it’s very easy to make a detour to Peter’s Lane to buy a yummy bar or box filled with truffles, or for a hot chocolate drink which includes chilli, hazelnut praline and Black Forest gateau flavours (and its silky smooth hot chocolate is also available at home thanks to the Velvetiser machine).

Artisane

Bringing a taste of France to Woolton Road, you’ll often see queues outside here as customers follow their noses to the aroma of freshly-baked bread, pies and pastries and, crucially, to the cakes, tarts, biscuits, muffins, and gorgeous macarons that have become famous – partly because they look like works of art! The only problem with Artisane according to other customers is that it can become addictive – but it’s a chance we’re willing to take!
