This December, A Very Vintage Christmas takes place at Exchange Flags, bringing together the best bits of the festive season with a 1940s vintage twist.
A Very Vintage Christmas have teamed up with Liverpool’s war museum, Western Approaches, to bring a wartime hub of activity and festivity to Liverpool this year. Visitors can enjoy live Swing music performances while browsing over 20 vintage stalls selling crafts, clothes and artisan gifts provided by LouLou’s Vintage Fair!
The Guide Liverpool will be teaming up with Exchange Flags to bring you all of the build up and lots of Christmas action when event begins.
A bar will welcome tired feet to sit and enjoy a delicious drink out of the cold, with re-enactment soldiers walking amongst visitors as though stepping back in time to a wartime Christmas. There will also be a Make do and Mend workshop, where kids (and grown-ups) can make vintage Christmas decorations to take home.
Out in the square, a selection of hot street food will be serving up sweet and savoury treats to tickle taste buds and fuel hungry stomachs. Festive music will be played and “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be silently projected onto the building.
Having broken the locks on forgotten rooms and uncovered a trove of WWII memorabilia, Big Heritage have transformed this former secret underground HQ, used to mastermind the Battle of the Atlantic, into an immersive and interactive attraction that will benefit not only history lovers but also those with military interests, school groups, families and tourists alike.
