Take a look at the new 12-foot-tall cat structure coming to Eureka! Science + Discovery
3 years ago
Eureka! Science + Discoveryâs first exhibit prowled through the streets of Wirral to its new home earlier this month.
The huge, 12 foot tall structure of a friendly feline has been exclusively revealed as the centrepiece of the new Merseyside attractionâs Home Zone, which will explore the science behind everyday sights and sounds, showing young people what goes into creating many of the things we take for granted.
Taking the crown for the heaviest cat in Merseyside, if not the UK, the paw-inspiring kitty weighs in at more than 750 kilos! The contender for the UKâs coolest cat will welcome thousands of families to the new attraction â complete with a twitching tail.
Not only will visitors be able to stroke and take selfies with Wirralâs most magnificent moggy, but theyâll also be able to discover the truth behind a catâs nine lives, learn what a pet catâs meows, growls, hisses, and chirrups actually mean, and even have a go at trying to catch a mouse quicker than a cat can. (Spoiler alert: No chance).
Leigh-Anne Stradeski, Eureka!âs CEO, said of the attractionâs newest, feline-shaped addition:
âWell the cat is well and truly out of the bag! We couldn’t wait to share one of our favourite creations with you, an exhibit weâre sure will be a firm fan favourite, too.â
âBut we need your help, and weâre not kitten around! Our new furry friend doesnât have a name, so weâre looking for people to help us out with suggestions on our social media channels to help us name the UKâs coolest cat.â
The exciting and varied exhibits at Eureka! Science + Discovery are dedicated to helping young people explore science stories and bring STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) subjects to life.
Eureka! Science + Discoveryâs founding partner is renewable energy company Ărsted, and the project is funded primarily by ÂŁ6.44m from the LCRCA’s Strategic Investment Fund and a ÂŁ3m award from the Inspiring Science Fund with a further ÂŁ0.5m invested by Wirral Council.Â
