Take a trip into Wonderland with The Alice Experience
8 years ago

The Guide sent us off to St Georges Hall this week to find out more about the brand new interactive experience set to bring half term fun to all……curiouser and curiouser!
The Alice experience is a family walk-through experience that encourages visitors to follow Alice down the rabbit hole and help her make some big decisions along the way.
Lasting around 90 minutes the path wanders through the stunning halls and corridors of St Georges Hall where visitors meet some rather opinionated roses, an enchanted forest made from 160 broken umbrellas and a somewhat down-trodden humpty dumpty!
The Mad Hatters Tea party is a world of crazy. With families sat on giant swiss rolls and battenburg benches, the songs get into swing and the kids are fully encouraged to join in with song sheets and dressing up props. Move down, move down!
The whole venture has been at the heart of the In Another Place team for over a year and alongside an army of 780 volunteers, they have put together a unique learning experience.
Help has come from all corners of the region in the shape of church groups, brownies and rainbows, choirs and colleges as well as participation from adults and children with additional needs, culminating in a community driven event that will inspire youngsters over the half term break and beyond.
We don’t want to give too much of the story away, and keep the surprises…well, a surprise, but watching Alice shrink and grow in front of your very eyes had even the adults spellbound.
Huge congratulations to In Another Place and St Georges Hall for staging such an ambitious project in a beautiful setting.
Tickets are available from £5 to £12. The experience is not recommended for children under 3.
