Teenage Liverpool DJ Harrison McDonald is bringing his family club parties to Liverpool after a massive sell-out summer in Ibiza.
Harrison McDonald is putting on the first El Kiddo event at The Dome at Grand Central Hall for Halloween, on Saturday October 28, with a second in Southport the following Sunday.
The day parties will have DJs, entertainers and lots of fun stuff for little clubbers, just like the ones that have been packing in parents and their kids through the summer season in Ibiza.
And, because obviously it canât exactly recreate the beachside San Antonio feel at Bam-Bu-Ku where El Kiddoâs had its residency, the UK dates will be getting some added extras too.
That includes tribute artists for pop superstars like Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry performing their huge hits as well as fancy dress competitions for the best Halloween costumes.
Harry, whoâs from Aigburth, says heâs looking forward to launching the brand thatâs been such a big success back in his home city:
âWeâve just finished our first full season in Ibiza and it was a brilliant summer. We did 22 El Kiddo parties at Bam-Bu-Ku, two every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we sold out almost every event. It got to the stage where we didnât even really have to do any promotion, people were already aware of it and they were booking so it was filling itself, we just had to give the final push.
âWe say El Kiddo is a kidsâ event but actually itâs the parents who have just as good a time because theyâre on holiday so theyâre all having a few drinks, the music is catered to them and the kids are being looked after by the entertainers, so everyone can enjoy themselves.
âPeople who come to Ibiza with kids are usually the ones who used to come on their own and they want to relive the glory days. They get to do that with the music we play – we play loads of funky house and Ibiza classics – and they can experience it all with their kids.
âThe age range at our events goes from about 4 or 5 to about 13 but we do get older than that. As kids get a bit older they donât really want to be with the entertainers, but they do still have fun just on the table with their parents so thereâs something for everyone.â
17-year-old Harry got his first high-profile break as a DJ when he was just 12 and was approached by BOSS Nights to play at Liverpoolâs Champions League semi-final in Barcelona.
He went on to DJ again in the fan park at the final in Madrid, in front of 40,000 supporters, then travelled to Paris last May to play for a huge crowd of fans ahead of Liverpoolâs European final alongside artists including Jamie Webster and The Lightning Seeds.
After a few one-off events with El Kiddo in Dubai, the brand launched proper this summer and itâs gone on to attract some big attention – Fat Boy Slim went along to one of the sold-out dates in August.
Harrison McDonald has been working on his UK debut since July and has put the finishing touches to it since he came back to Liverpool after the Ibiza closing parties.
He says The Dome on Renshaw Street and Bliss Hotel on Southport Prom will be getting a complete Halloween transformation and they both already on course to be a full house.
Doors will open at 11.30am with a Mini Monsters Party from 12pm to 3pm and an El Kiddo Rave from 3pm to 7pm.
Harry Mac will be DJing himself alongside Billie Clements and Robbie Edwards and heâs added three young DJs to the line-up to give them a break like he had starting out.
