Tesco Heswall donates almost 500 easter eggs to local causes
2 years ago

Lindsay Kennedy, Community Champion at Tesco Heswall, has recently donated a huge 470-strong collection of Easter eggs to those in need across the Wirral community.
The collection of eggs is set to be distributed to a host of recipients, including vulnerable children, care home residents, hospital staff and patients, as well as those who are homeless.
The donation came about after the Rotary Club of Heswall, whom Tesco Heswall have donated to in the past, reached out to the store to see if they could contribute 125 eggs to its upcoming donation drive.
Fortunately, Tesco Heswall were able to double this figure, donating a staggering 250 Easter eggs to the cause.
The Rotary Club have worked closely with Wirral Council to identify care homes across the area, to those who may need a sweet pick-me-up this Easter.
Community Champion, Lindsay Kennedy, was delighted to get involved with the donations. So much so that she even opted to get stuck in with the drop-offs.
Lindsay, alongside a representative from the Rotary Club, recently spent the day delivering the sweet surprises to nursing homes across the community, much to the residents’ delight.

Reflecting on the donation, Lindsay says: ‘Easter is usually a period for spending time for family, but we appreciate that this might not be possible for many in the current circumstances. We hope that these small acts of kindness offer a gesture of support to those in our community that may be struggling.’
An additional 70 eggs have been distributed by Lindsay to patients and staff at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. These seventy eggs were generously donated by local customers through the Tesco Heswall’s in-store Easter donation point that the colleagues had created.

The final 150 eggs will soon be distributed to vulnerable children and homeless adults within the community. These donations will be managed by local woman, Laura Hughes, who invited Tesco Heswall to get involved with her own donation drive.
