Duke Street Food and Drink Market, the cherished food and drink hotspot nestled in the heart of the City Centre, is excited to announce that Barnacle is now a permanent addition.
Since kicking off the culinary adventure in December 2021, Barnacle has been soaking up all the delicious vibes of Liverpool’s food scene. Their aim, since day one, has been to capture the spirit of this city and its maritime history, blending in inspirations from all corners. Starting January 11th at Duke Street Market, Barnacle is turning into The Barnacle Kitchen!
The team are spreading their wings to serve the entire market, staying true to its cherished roots with gastro-inspired classics. Picture Liverpool Cheese Co rarebit, Barnacle buttered chicken curry, brunch delights, and Sunday roasts – perfectly complementing the fantastic vendors surrounding them.
Seamlessly blending with Duke Street’s passion to offer fresh and sustainable dishes, sourced with ingredients from local independent suppliers who bring the charm to their menus.
General Manager, Lee Bannon-Smith expressed his anticipation, saying:
“Responding to enthusiastic demand, Barnacle gracefully evolves into our 7th kitchen, seamlessly blending into the vibrant market dynamic. This exciting expansion not only amplifies our capacity but also offers an array of diverse options to elevate the culinary experience at Duke Street Food and Drink Market. A testament to our commitment to meeting the growing appetite for exceptional food offerings and helping to create those memorable moments.”
Barnacle’s co-founder Paul Askew puts it:
“For over two years, we’ve proudly shared the tale of Liverpool’s culinary journey, teaming up with incredible local suppliers from all corners of the city region at Barnacle. Now, we’re unleashing this energy and creativity into the launch of The Barnacle Kitchen.”
