KIND Liverpool is a local charity that supports disadvantaged children and families across Liverpool and Merseyside.
The Beatles Story at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool will be launching a recreation of the famous ‘John & Yoko Bed In’ to support local charity KIND on Friday 8th December, inviting visitors to drop off donations of pyjamas to provide warmth and comfort to local children in need this Christmas.
The ‘Bed In and Be Kind This Christmas’ appeal aims to collect donations of new pyjamas for children of all ages to ensure that they have warm and comfortable sleepwear during the festive season, to be included in Christmas hampers along with gifts and food donations.
The Beatles Story staff will be taking it in turns to participate in a 24-hour revival of John & Yoko’s famous Bed In at The Royal Albert Dock’s Fab4 Café from Saturday 9th to Monday 11th December, and visitors are invited to take selfies with the bed (kindly supplied by Holiday Inn Express Liverpool) and drop off donations of new pyjamas in all sizes, from newborn to 16 years old, before the 18th December.
The Beatles Story’s General Manager, Mary Chadwick said:
“Every pair of pyjamas that we receive will make a difference in supporting disadvantaged children in our community.
“We are delighted to support KIND this year and with the help of donations from our visitors we can make this Christmas a happy one for disadvantaged families across Liverpool City Region.”
In addition, KIND Liverpool is also accepting donations of toys and food to be included in Christmas hampers distributed amongst children and families in the community who are struggling at this special time of year.
