The Beatles Story launches In My Life Memory Café for people living with dementia

The Beatles Story has announced a new monthly memory café in Liverpool designed to support people living with dementia, along with their carers and families.

The In My Life Memory Café will be based at the attraction’s Fab4 Café at the Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal at the Pier Head, creating a welcoming community space where visitors can chat, share experiences and reconnect with memories through music and creative activities.

The initiative uses music from the 1960s and the era of Beatlemania to help spark conversation and reminiscence. Sessions will include games, crafts and group activities inspired by the decade.

Research by music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins found that 87 percent of people living with dementia reported an improved quality of life through music therapy. The Beatles Story says the new café aims to bring those benefits to people across Liverpool.

Sessions cost £1 per person and include refreshments such as tea, coffee and biscuits. All activity materials are provided and there is no need to pre-book.

The project forms part of The Beatles Story’s wider community and sustainability work, following the attraction receiving a silver Green Tourism award in 2025 as it works towards gold status.

The In My Life Memory Café will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm on one Monday each month, starting on Monday 9 March.
