The Christians are amongst the musicians announced to support Sting when he performs during On The Waterfront this June in Liverpool.
Liverpool’s Pier Head is gearing up for the return of the On the Waterfront concert series, which will take place from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22, 2025. With a strong lineup including The Wombats, Ibiza Cream Classical and Sting plus a stunning riverside setting, this year’s event is expected to be one of our favourite weekends of the year.
Grammy Award winner Sting, will headline the closing night of the festival on Sunday, June 22. This marks his first return to Liverpool in over twenty years. Sting will deliver a set that spans his extensive career, joined by guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, known for his work with Mumford & Sons.

Also featured on the closing night is The Christians, the well-known 80s soul-pop band led by Garry Christian. The band is celebrated for hits like “Forgotten Town” and “Ideal World,” and their socially conscious lyrics resonate with audiences.
In addition, American-born pianist and songwriter Sophie Grey will take the stage. Her sound, described as Retro Electro, blends elements of soulful pop and 80s-inspired beats, adding a contemporary edge to the lineup. Liverpool’s own TRAITS, an emerging talent in the local music scene, will also perform.
With the picturesque backdrop of Liverpool’s waterfront, framed by the historic Three Graces and the River Mersey, the On the Waterfront Festival 2025 promises to be one of the city’s favourite weekends of the year.
The Wombats will be joined by Pale Waves, whilst artists confirmed to play Cream Classical Ibiza on the Saturday include Groove Armada, Todd Terry, Chicane and See Fontaine.
