The Christmas carol services you can enjoy this year in Liverpool

Everyone loves a carol at Christmas and Liverpool will celebrate with carols and services throughout the special season of Advent and on the day itself.

But it’s in the city’s two cathedrals and its parish church where many of us will get together.

Here are the services you can enjoy

Liverpool Cathedral

Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is celebrating the season with a host of festive services.

All the services are free, but you do need to book.

In a delightful service suitable for the whole family the tree is lit and the crib scene is brought to life and blessed for Christmas.

Get into the festive spirit as the Cathedral Choir sings well-known Christmas carols and hymns.

Don’t forget you can also see the breath-taking Angel Wings until 3 January.

The Cathedral Choir will take a leading role in services at the Cathedral, and this month is packed with opportunities to hear them sing.

With smaller numbers allowed, you’ll need to book for services – and it’s recommended you do that early. But, if you’re not able to visit in person, all services will be lived-streamed, so everyone can join in.
