The Spiegeltent are delighted to debut in Liverpool this year and excited to announce their first wave of live events for the 2019 festive season.
The Spiegeltent’s are hoping their arrival in Liverpool will add something extra special to the city’s hugely popular nightlife scene.
The Christmas Spiegeltent will be located in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle area and sited in the Cain’s Brewery Village district. Situated adjacent to the Baltic Market and opposite to Northern Lights and Tusk Baltic.
They have pulled out all the stops for 2019 with the return of some Spiegeltent classics as well as some fantastic newcomers who are guaranteed to make this their biggest and best events programme to date.
MORE: Christmas has come early for Prescot
Their opening night sees the long overdue return to Liverpool of dub poet, musician, author and Peaky Blinders’ actor, Benjamin Zepahniah who will be performing at the launch night, which will be the 28th of November. A truly incredible performer and his music has inspired a whole generation of artists and performers as he continues to lead the light with his recently released (and critically acclaimed) album ‘Revolutionary Minds’. As always, his shows are entertaining and educational in equal measure and all centred around that dance-inducing rhythm of the ‘reggae heartbeat’.
Following this will be White Mink: Electro Swing on the 30th of November. This will be a chance to be transported back to the days of Swing music and the intoxicating temptations of the Speakeasy bar scene. Vintage harmonies, incredible live jazz and a blend of entertainment that’s heady, mesmerising and surprisingly fresh and contemporary. An excuse to dress up and dance about.
If you’d love to learn how to Swing dance then you’ll love the Mersey Swing ‘Spitfire Sunday’ Dance Workshop on the 1st of December. A chance to learn alongside professional Swing dancers who will shape and manoeuvre until your Swing dancing with wild abandon.
If you’re more inclined to watch professional dancers at work, you’ll love the immersive experience of Hollywood classic ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ on the 11th of December. The film will be accompanied by an expanded and immersive theatre performance dovetailing seamlessly with the action on screen. This event is preceded by a two-course meal and a live DJ set and is the perfect festive treat for those looking for something a little different.
Sunday Socials
The Christmas Spiegeltent Sunday Socials have become the stuff of legend. A weekly family-friendly event that is all about those Sunday vibes. Delicious three-course Sunday roasts all accompanied by live music and performance. The first will have a live DJ set from Positive Vibration festival DJS and a performance from legendary Liverpool musician, writer and actor, Levi Tafari on the 8th of December.
Then the next Sunday there will be a performance from The Specials’ Jerry Dammers who will be DJing throughout the afternoon and curating the music from his vast collection. This will be all about great music, great food and a great day out for all the family.

Family Fun
The Christmas Spiegeltent events are not all targeted to the adults as there are a number of events aimed at the little ones.
Starting with Baby Disko on the 7th of December, this is exactly what it says on the tin; a disco for children and a chance for them (and the parents) to get dressed up and dance the day away. This is for children that are aged 5 years and under with the added bonus of a circus clown show.
There will also be a Family Cabaret & Disco on the 14th of December (for adults and children alike). This is a show filled with all of the spectacular showpiece performances you’d expect at a cabaret and is all finished off with a family disco.
For those looking to learn and perfect some of the techniques involved, there will be a Circus Skills Workshop on the 7th of December. You will be hooked up with trained circus performers who will teach you all the tricks of the trade and have you entertaining friends and family with your impressive array of new skills.
These events have proven to be immensely popular so tickets are bound to sell out fast.
