The Claire House Christmas Concert is back at St. George’s Hall
4 years ago

You can get Christmassy whilst also raising money for Liverpool’s Claire House too
The Claire House Christmas Concert is returning to the Concert Room in St Georges Hall on Monday 16th December and will be opened by Chris Cain, who’s daughter Claire is the inspiration behind the children’s hospice.
After Claire died from a tumour behind her nose and eye 30 years ago, her family and friends fund raised tirelessly to fund and build Claire House, which opened its doors at Christmas 1998 and now supports over 300 local families every year.
The family celebrated Claire’s 40th birthday this summer and throughout 2019 have fund raised to raise £40,000 in her memory to provide music therapy in the hospice.
Rachel Handley, Event Fundraiser, said: “Claire House would not be here without the Cain family so it is fitting that, after their year of fundraising to celebrate Claire’s 40th, that Chris will speak at the Christmas Concert.
As well as Chris opening the event, New Brighton Primary School, the school Claire attended as a child, will be performing two carols. The Christmas Concert is the perfect opportunity to feel festive and support your local children’s hospice.”
The Concert is hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips and features the Vale of Clywd Singers, Allerton Brass and Bronze Carilon, ringing festive handbells. The Liverpool Mozart Orchestra will also be performing excerpts from ‘Messiah’ alongside the Vale of Clywd Singers, including the ‘Hallejulah’ chorus.
Rachel Handley continued: “We’re really excited about the Concert this year. The Vale of Clywd Singers sing beautifully, Allerton Brass Band sound so festive, and it’s great to welcome back the bell ringers who were such a hit last year. It’s also really special to have the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra this year and to hear them in the Concert Room alongside a choir will be a Christmas highlight!”
Tickets are £20 and can be purchased at www.clairehouse.org.uk or at Claire House. Doors open on the night at 6.15pm for a drinks reception and the concert starts at 7pm.
