The Eccleston Arms Bar & Grill launches ‘No one goes hungry’ campaign
4 years ago
As we approach another lockdown, there will be many people within the Liverpool City Region that will be struggling to provide a warm meal either for themselves or for their children.
The team behind the Eccleston Arms Bar & Grill experienced first hand just how many people required their support throughout the first lockdown, after launching an initiative to make sure the vulnerable and elderly could get hold of basic necessities.
This time around, inspired by Marcus Rashford’s school meals campaign, The Eccleston Arms will be asking for your help and donations to provide free meals to those who need them most in St. Helen’s & Prescot.
Andrew Mikhail – owner of The Ecclseton Arms – and The Mikhail Group have got the ball rolling and donated the first £2000 to the campaign.
Andrew said “It broke my heart when I read about Marcus Rashford’s campaign. I was so thankful to St Helens Council for stepping forward and filling the void and they made sure no child went hungry during half term. Now with the forthcoming lockdown, I want to make sure that no person within the St Helens & Prescot area will go hungry. I also want to make sure my fantastic staff are kept busy at the Eccleston Arms serving our delicious take away meals to those who can afford whilst looking after the under privileged of our community.
“We are going to need volunteers to help deliver and assist our staff and once again I am thankful to The Steve Prescott Foundation who will be liaising with all parties on this campaign.”
You can donate to the campaign via The Eccleston Arms website.
The bar & grill’s takeaway and delivery service will also be continuing throughout the lockdown, with any food not used at the end of each day donated to the ‘No-one goes hungry’ cause. Nothing will go to waste.
They’ll also be offering ready prepared meals to purchase, for those required to isolate.
