The Gruffalo is coming to Knowsley Safari this weekend
5 months ago
The Gruffalo is heading to Knowsley Safari on Sunday 21 July to meet and greet his Liverpool fans.
The Gruffalo, who has bright orange eyes, a black tongue and a wart on the end of his nose, will leave the deep dark woods for one day only to give families visiting the Safari a magical, never-to-be-forgotten experience.
Making special appearances at intervals throughout the day, The Gruffalo will mingle with visitors and have his picture taken with them too.
The Gruffalo is one of the most famous and best-loved characters in the world. His appearance at Knowsley Safari is just part of an action-packed summer schedule that also features dragons, giant bubbles, inflatable obstacle courses and everyone’s favourite Blue Heeler, Bluey.
The day after The Gruffalo departs the Safari, a unique dinosaur experience will arrive (22nd – 26th July; 29th July – 2nd August) showcasing some of the most life-like dinosaurs you’ll ever see! Huge dinosaurs will create Jurassic memories for visitors big and small. There’ll be live dinosaur shows throughout each day and plenty of photo opportunities too.
The Safari also expects its new Andean Bears to be a big pull this summer, with Bahia and Chui settling in well at Bear County on the Foot Safari. A viewing window, positioned directly in front of their climbing platform, helps visitors see all the action. When they’re not eating, cracking coconuts or showing off their climbing ability, the bears can be seen lounging around and chilling out, which is one of their favourite things to do.
Ian Duke, Marketing Manager at Knowsley Safari said:
“A special guest appearance by The Gruffalo is great way to kick off our summer of fun. And let’s not forget we have around 1,200 animals here including baboons, giraffes and our new Andean Bears, as well as fairground rides, animal displays and delicious food.
“We’re proud to say families could come every week of the holidays and have a unique experience, as well as a great day out each time.”
