The Guide Liverpool joins forces with Tranmere Rovers for a Celebrity Charity Match in memory of James Bulger
5 years ago

We’re heading to Prenton Park with a host of celebs to raise much needed cash for two local charities this October.
Tranmere Rovers is to host a Celebrity Charity Football Match on Sunday 21st October 2018. Reality TV stars including The Only Way is Essex’s James Argent and 2018 Love Island participant Frankie Foster will be gracing the Prenton Park pitch, with all monies raised being donated to Tranmere Rovers In The Community and the James Bulger Memorial Trust.
Alongside Argent and Foster, other household names lacing up their boosts will be EastEnders duo Dean Gafney and Jake Wood, Geordie Shore’s Sam Gowland, TV personality Calum Best and many more. Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans will also be in attendance, taking his seat in the dugout as a manager for one of the celebrity team’s.
The game will be played in a friendly and competitive way but with real importance as all funds raised will go towards two charitable organisations who work tirelessly within the local community each and every day. This year marks 25 years since James sadly passed away, and in his memory, his mother Denise decided to launch a charity to benefit and support young people who are disadvantaged by reason of having become a part of bereavement, a victim of crime, hatred or bullying.
We’re bursting with pride to once again support the James Bulger Memorial Trust as a sponsor, Jay Hynd said: “Having been friends with Denise for many years, I am honoured that The Guide Liverpool is able to support an event for JBMT. Thankfully I won’t be showing off any skills on the pitch though.
“We’ll leave the fancy footwork to the stars who have pledged their support so willingly. Keep your eyes on the pitch for The Guide Liverpool shirts and lets raise lots of cash for this incredible charity.”
Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers In The Community works with thousands of people each year, with the four core themes of their work being in health, education, social inclusion and sports participation.
