The Harrison’s Foundation launches their Christmas Toy Appeal
1 year ago
The Harrison’s Foundation are collecting new toys and cash donations in the run-up to Christmas this year and every donation is being matched by the business. So if you drop a toy into one of their venues the local independent will match it with another toy. Or if you donate say £10 on just giving this will also be matched.
The appeal has started now and runs until Monday 18th December. All the toys that come in will be given to several different local charities: including the Kirkby Toy Appeal, Southdene Community Centre and L30 Community Centre.
It’s the Harrisons Bar Group (Abbey Road Bar & Kitchen, Harrisons Bar & Kitchen, Dwntwn, Scruffy Murphy & Scruffy Murphy Mathew Street) latest effort to support community groups. The generosity from friends and customers last year helped them to donate over 200 toys to the L6 Community Centre, L30 Community Centre, Kirkby Toy Appeal and the Radio City Cash for Kids Appeal.
Nicola Halton Head of Business Development at Harrisons Bar Group said:
“After our Easter Egg collections and our last Christmas Toy Appeal being so popular, this year we decided to do a toy appeal and cash appeal !
We like to think of our venues Harrison’s Bar and Kitchen, Abbey Road Bar & Kitchen, Dwntwn and the two Scruffy Murphy sites as community pubs/bars in the heart of the city. Fortunately, we are in a position to help but understand that with the cost-of-living crisis continuing, even more people are struggling this year. Our generous customers have been passing in toys, or have donated money. We have set up the money option via GoFundMe, as some people don’t have the time to call down with toys. We will use this money, matched by us, to purchase toys also.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity from our customers last Christmas and we aim to help even many more families this year.”
