Halloween, panto, family raves, oh my!
It’s a busy month for families as no sooner have the kids settled into the school year, then they’re for another week! October in Liverpool means Half-term and Halloween, but they don’t fall at the same time for some Liverpool school kids! We’ve put together a huge list of all the best events taking place throughout the month, so no one misses out on a bit of Autumnal fun.
Whether you’re into fresh air fun, arts and crafts or music, performance and fancy dress, we’ve got something lined up for you this October in Liverpool…….
1 – Giant Spectacular
From 4th-7th October you can take the kids to experience the street performance of a lifetime, right here in our own city. Fancy dress parties, cheeky dogs, a little boy in a hammock and a giant celebration. All the details here.
2 – Beauty & The Beast, St Helen’s Theatre Royal
There’s a classic half term panto on at St Helen’s Theatre Royal! Beauty & the Beast stars Milkshake’s Kiera Nicole Brennan, Philip McGuinness and Theatre Royal fave Lewis Devine. Tickets here.
3 – It’s a Scream Comedy Club, Royal Court
It’s A Scream Comedy CLub is back at the Royal Court Theatre on 19th October. You and your little nipper are invited to sit back and enjoy some top class comedy and it’s totally cool if the baby has a melt down! All in the same boat together! More info here.
4 – The Monster Halloween Ball, Palm House
The Lantern Company is staging a huge Halloween event at Sefton Park Palm House from 24th – 26th October which involves craft workshops a parade and a Halloween ball. Tickets are selling fast, get yours here.
5 – How to Hide a Lion, The Epstein
Helen Stephen’s much-loved book, How to Hide a Lion comes to life with dazzling puppetry at The Epstein Theatre on Sunday 14th October. Join little Iris on an adventure with a big furry friend. Tickets here.
6 – Sing-A-Long Nightmare Before Christmas, Hangar 34
Hangar 34 is playing host to a mass sing along this Halloween and you’re invited. Get your spookiest fancy dress on and get your tickets for sing-along The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington! More info and tickets here.
7 – Pop Up Cinema, The Lodge at The Club House
There’s loads of fab family films being screened at The Lodge, The Club House Liverpool ONE throughout October including Paddington, The Incredibles, Moana and more. Click here to get your tickets.
8 – After School Treats, Bubbles World of Play, Marine Point
Why wait for half term to treat the kids this October? With this fab after school meal deal, which includes admission and something to eat, you can ditch the dishes and have fun on the slides instead! Book in here.
9 – Free Family Saturday, Victoria Gallery

10 – Countryside Day, Aintree Racecourse
There’s loads of fresh air, familt fun at Aintree Racecourse on 28th October as Countryside Day admits children 17 and under for free. Expect Punch & Judy shows, Dog Shows, the Lamb National, pony rides and more. Tickets here.
11 – Haunted Hinterlands Halloween Social
Haunted Hinterlands Halloween Social takes place on Saturday 27th October from 12pm. There’s a disco DJ, arts, sensory, storytelling, a silent disco and more. Find out more and get your tickets here.
12 – John Robertson’s Dark Room for Kids, Victoria Gallery
Saturday 13th October is all about gaming at Victoria Gallery as winner of the Leicester Comedy Festival’s Best Kids Show 2018, Dark Room comes to town with a interactive attraction. With over 4 million hits on YouTube this is the world’s only live-action video game! Tickets here.
13 – Arts, Crafts & Cats, Cat Cafe, Bold St
If your little ones are huge animal lovers, why not treat them to a little arts, crafts and cats on Saturdays mornings at Cat Cafe, Bold Street. The only issue is actually getting them to leave! The kitty’s are soooo cute! More info and booking here.
14 – Nightmare on Bold ST, Katumba Parade
The incredible Katumba Drummers are back with another Halloween parade on 27th October, kicking off on Bold Street at 9pm. Collaborating with Bring the Fire Project and Viva Brazil Samba Shows, the parade snakes its way through the city, finishing on Mathew St. Full route info here.
15 – Adventure Dock Co
It’s your last chance to make a splash at Adventure Dock this month as the city’s only inflatable obstacle course says goodbye to its Albert Dock home on 28th October. Grab a wet suit and take the plunge, you wont regret it! Details and booking here.
16 – Big Fish, Little Fish Birthday Rave
It’s all down to Constellations on 14th October as the Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave returns to celebrate its 3rd birthday. There’s crafts, confetti, murals, colouring in and big old beats. Tickets here.
17 – Laser Tag, Go Outside, Formby
