The Killers have chosen Liverpool for their extra date on the upcoming Wonderful Wonderful Tour
7 years ago
The Killers have announced an extra date for their upcoming sold out UK tour and the good news is it is right here in the music capital of the world.
The band, whose new album, Wonderful Wonderful, debuted at #1 in the UK’s Official Albums Chart and gave them their first EVER U.S chart #1 upon its release last month, will play an additional show at Liverpool Echo Arena on 9th November.
The Killers’ fifth studio album and their first in five years, Wonderful Wonderful continues the Las Vegas group’s 100% unblemished record of chart topping studio albums in the UK, with the band’s Brandon Flowers achieving a remarkable SEVENTH UK #1 album, since both of his solo albums – 2010’s Flamingo and 2015’s The Desired Effect – also topped the chart upon release.
Produced by Jacknife Lee, Wonderful Wonderful was recorded at The Killers’ own Battle Born recording studio in Las Vegas, and at Jacknife’s Los Angeles studio. The album features musical contributions from Alex Cameron, Mark Knopfler and Brian Eno, as well as a spoken word piece from Woody Harrelson.
Following the release of Wonderful Wonderful’s blistering lead single, The Man, The Killers played a surprise set at Glastonbury Festival in June, sold out their British Summer Time show in Hyde Park in record time, and conquered the European festival circuit with a crowd pleasing set of hits, before heading back stateside to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago.
Wonderful Wonderful is The Killers’ most sonically forward-thinking record yet, bursting with all of the blazing choruses and arena-pleasing anthems that make them one of the world’s biggest and most beloved rock bands.
