The Liverpool Christmas Tractor Convoy is back for 2023

The Liverpool Christmas Tractor Convoy returns this weekend raising money for Alder Hey.

Dozens of twinkling tractors will take to the city streets decked out in fairy lights and tinsel this Sunday, as the Liverpool Christmas Tractor Convoy winds its way through Liverpool to spread Christmas cheer.

Now a festive must-see, the Christmas Tractor Convoy will again raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity, with organisers hoping to hit ÂŁ250,000 in fundraising since the convoy started four years ago.

Olly Harrison, the founder of the Festive Farmers Christmas Convoy Tractor Run, started the event in 2020 after taking inspiration from a similar event on the Isle of Man.

“I’d raised money for Alder Hey with a sunflower maze and realised I could do more,” said Olly.

“Plus, it was during Covid when we first did it, and we thought it was also a glimmer of light in the dark days.”

The convoy has become a much-loved Christmas tradition in Liverpool, generating much-needed funds for Alder Hey and other local charities, including Fans Supporting Foodbanks.

Last year saw 100s of people turn out to see the magical procession of beautifully decorated farm vehicles and their festive entourage of reindeer and snowmen.

“I get ten (tractors) ready from our fleet and we try and make sure they are the best to encourage everyone to go better every year,” Olly added.

“The Festive Farmers Christmas Convoy Tractor Run is a free event, but it would be great if anyone who can afford it gives us a donation for Alder Hey.”

The convoy’s route through the city includes a ‘quiet zone’, so children who don’t like loud noises can enjoy the spectacle.

The parade, which usually takes 3 hours, was also live-streamed last year to let people keep up to date with the action and see where the convoy is up to.

You can catch the convoy on Sunday, December 10th.

The route is still being finalised but will likely start at 5 pm, arriving at Alder Hey around 6 pm.
