The Peter Moore Foundation celebrates its 3 year anniversary
4 years ago
Peter Moore, the son of a publican, born and bred among the streets off Scotland Road and Garston, lived every local ladâs dream when he became the CEO of Liverpool Football Club in 2017.
Moore, though true to his roots, left Liverpool in 1981 for America to be a football coach in California.
There, he found himself working up the ladder for the biggest athletic brands of the times, Patrick and Reebok, before finding himself headfirst in the video game industry. Â
Moore was the Chief Operating Officer at Electronic Arts in San Francisco when he received an offer he couldnât refuse- to come back to his hometown to lead the team he and his dad supported, as CEO. Â
While Moore ran LFC behind the scenes to FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Champions League, and Premier League titles, his impact on the club will be written in history. But the impact he has made on the local community is where he has truly left a legacy. Â
Upon arriving back to Liverpool, Peter knew he wanted to give back to the community that gave so much to him. He created the Peter Moore Foundation, with the tagline âwith hope in your heartâ in 2018, dedicated to supporting organizations in and around Merseyside.
The Peter Moore Foundation has supported over 18 charities since its development, from social media initiatives for the male suicide prevention centre, James place, to donating treatment and work rooms in honour of his late parents to Alder Hey and Anfield Sports and Community Centre. Â
Celebrating three years since its inception this week, the Peter Moore Foundation is looking back on the impact it has made on the community, releasing figures of granting hundreds of thousands of pounds to Merseyside organizations. Â
ââDuring the past three years, we are privileged to have been able to make the lives of those on Merseyside experiencing tough times just a little bit easier.â says Moore.
