The Walton Centre is up for an award for the team’s work during the pandemic

The Walton Centre’s Procurement Team has been nominated for their work during the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in the latest North Excellence in Supply Awards.
The awards, hosted by the Innovation Agency, celebrate inspirational examples of businesses, third sector organisations and the NHS working together to improve patient care and support health and care staff during COVID-19.
Head of Procurement, and the one who nominated the team, Katie Tootill said:
“I’m delighted that the team has been shortlisted. They worked and continue to work incredibly hard to ensure frontline staff are equipped to deal with the challenges the pandemic presents.
“The team came up with an innovative solution create a live dashboard, which told them stock levels and pressures at a glance. It means they can anticipate the needs of our clinicians and support patient care. I’m so proud of them.”
The Awards ceremony, which will be held online in October, will also recognise health systems and other organisations pulling out the stops to keep services going during the COVID-19 outbreak. You can follow the event on Twitter and YouTube.
