The Zone in Wavertree doubles its clients since opening in April

When Lauren Caffrey opened The Zone on April 12, so many people had questioned her decision to launch a gym straight after the UK’s latest lockdown.

But fast forward four and a half very successful months, and Lauren and her team of 13 personal trainers have now doubled The Zone’s clients.

Prior to opening, The Zone offered personal training to between 60 people per day to now training over 120 people per day at the 2000 sqft unit.

The Zone is a space where people can enjoy normality, socialise with others and really push themselves in terms of both mind and body after being locked down for so long during 2020 and the start of 2021.

Lauren, from West Derby, explained:

“For me it’s about helping as many people as possible. Human interaction was so limited during the multiple lockdowns and my aim is to return to normality as much as possible at The Zone and give our clients a place to enjoy socialising with like-minded people in a really upbeat and encouraging environment. Our bootcamp classes also went live in May and have created such an amazing atmosphere at the gym; it’s incredible to have classes back on and pushing our clients to be the best version of themselves.”

Bootcamp classes feature a combination of boxing, HIIT and treadmill work are on at various times every day of the week and are perfect if you want to train before or after work.

At just 23, Lauren has accomplished so much already, but to also be shortlisted for the Enterprise Vision Awards’ Young Entrepreneur of the Year award is the icing on the cake for the business owner.

With the voting closing on 31st August, Lauren is hopeful she’ll get the votes she needs to win.

She said: “To think that I’ve been shortlisted to the final six for this award out of 700 nominations is crazy. We’ve been open less than six months and this recognition feels like such an amazing achievement. I’m so grateful to have been nominated and it would mean the world to me to win.”

Since opening The Zone, Lauren has added a kettlebell class with Kettlebell specialist coach Tom Simpson which takes place in The Zen; the unit’s yoga studio, a 30/30 class of 30 minutes of kettlebells and 30 minutes of yoga with Jess – a pre and post natal qualified PT and teacher as well as an upbeat Funky Beats yoga class with yoga enthusiast Ryan Tierney.

Lauren added: “I’m constantly trying to improve our offering at The Zone so that we have something for everyone. We cater for all abilities and anyone is welcome to join our classes or come to us for personal training. You’re in the best hands with our trainers who are all so knowledgeable and passionate about improving your health and fitness and helping you reach your goals.”
