This is how to recycle your real christmas tree on Merseyside

Are you desperate to get the deccies down and tree out of the living room? Here’s how to make sure your real tree is put to good use.

Is your beautiful Nordic Fir looking a bit sad now the twinkly lights and decorations are all back in loft? Don’t leave it out in the cold, read on for all the details on the Liverpool City Region Christmas tree recycling points and do your bit for the environment too.

Whether you’re in Southport or Speke, New Brighton or Netherley, there’s a local drop off point or recycling centre near you!

Liverpool

L4: Stanley Park car park

Don’t forget. If you’re transporting your waste/real Christmas tree in a van, flatbed or trailer, you’ll need a special permit. They’re available to order here.

PR9: Southport Household Waste Recycling Centre, Foul Lane, Southport

Formby National Trust is not accepting Christmas trees this year but you can arrange a collection from St Joseph’s Hospice for a small donation. Click here to find out more. 


Wirral

CH41: Bidston Household Waste Recycling Centre, Wallasey Bridge Road

CH63: Clatterbridge Household Waste Recycling Centre, Mount Road, Bebington

CH48: West Kirby Household Waste Recycling Centre, Greenbank Road

WA7: Runcorn Household Waster Recycling Centre, Picow Farm Road

WA8: Widnes Johnson’s Lane Household Waste Centre

Halton recycling centres are open daily from 8am until 6pm. Find out more about what type of waste can be recycled here and check if you need a permit, here.


Knowsley

Knowsley Council drop off points are open from from Saturday 29 December 2018 to Sunday 13 January 2019. Alternatively, Willbrook Hospice will collect your tree from home for a £5 donation to the charity. Check out eligible postcodes and book your slot here.
