This is the plan for Fine Tuned at Albert Dock with British Style Collective
6 years ago
It is one of prettiest and most trendy locations in the city so of course our beautiful Albert Dock is getting in on the British Style Collection action. You might remember last year the dock hosted Vintage on the Dock with Wayne Hemmingway (see videos below).
This year it will be back even bigger under the new name Fine Tunes, and trust us you will not want to miss it.
Presenting a ‘fine tuned’ collection of fiercely independent designer makers, street food vendors, vintage traders, performers, and classic car display, Fine Tuned is a free fringe event forming part of the British Style Collective presented by The Clothes Show in association with Alcatel, citywide take-over from 7th – 9th July.
Taking place at the historic waterfront setting of Albert Dock Liverpool, Fine Tuned will pay homage to iconic styles of bygone eras whilst showcasing future trends. Visitors can expect a unique blend of shopping experiences, classic cars, supercool DJs playing the finest vinyl, pop up ‘Best in Show’ catwalks, beauty make-overs and brilliantly unique street theatre.
For vintage fashion lovers, The Vintage Marketplace, in the Dr Martin Luther King Jnr Building from 10am-6pm, hosts purveyors of fashion and accessories, combining couture labels with prêt-à-porter and street style, from the 1920s to the 1990s. Expect to see the finest selection of fashion, vinyl, music memorabilia and up-cycled ephemera.
After your fill of fashion, stroll over to the Salthouse Dockyard between 11am – 6pm and tune your buds to the tastes of the world through colourfully curated street food vendors including Dim Sum Sue, Jolly Waggoner, Wha Wha’s, Pulled Swine, Francos Salt Beef, Ghin Kow
Vietnamese, Bumper & Pull, and Hennessey Of Liverpool. Sample the flavours, feast on culinary delights, visit the quirky horsebox and bus bars and be entertained by an eclectic collection of street performers.
Jean and Morag are two feisty, tricycling tea ladies and legends of the local scene. These girls are always up for tea, biscuits and will be found making mischief all around Fine Tuned. Dance in the street to the good vibes and booming sounds of the BoomBike, and watch the dynamic and explosive duo of female breakdancers Exception-Elle, these girls will stop you in your tracks!
If shining bumpers and gleaming hubcaps are your thing, from 10am – 6pm Hartley Quay hosts the Classic Car Show, jam-packed with all manner of vintage vehicles – there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a marque aficionado or general enthusiast.
Wayne Hemingway commented:
“Fine Tuned will be a real highlight in the British Style Collective city-wide programme for those seeking out independent designers, for vintage enthusiasts and families alike. We are flooding Albert Dock and surrounds with great design, great street food, entertainment and DJ’s”
Sue Grindrod, chief executive, Albert Dock Liverpool, said:
“Once again Wayne Hemingway and his creative team have come up with a thrilling programme for Fine Tuned – the free element to the exciting British Style Collective city takeover. Whether you’re an admirer of all things vintage, car enthusiast or a family looking for something fun to do at the weekend, Fine Tuned at Albert Dock has got it all!”
