LMA student Lee Morris has appeared alongside Film & TV legends Sean Bean and Stephen Graham in Jimmy Mcgovern’s powerful new BBC prison drama ‘Time’
Lee plays the son of newly imprisoned Sean Bean’s character with Stephen Graham delivering another stunning performance as prison guard Eric McNally.
Lee said:
“For my first acting job to be on set with legends like Stephen Graham, Sean Bean and Sue Johnson is just mind blowing. They all helped me so much with some brilliant advice and loads of support”.
Other LMA students Daniel Chin, Katie Wellman, Adam Gannon, Taylor Illingworth, Courtney Watson and Dominic Quinn also appear in the series.
‘Time’ has already received 5 star reviews with The Guardian saying “The performances of Bean and Graham are astonishing. So, too, are those from everyone in smaller roles..” The Metro said “Time is a necessary lesson on the British prison system and a masterclass in acting.”
It’s not the first time Bean and Graham have worked together with Jimmy McGovern having starred in McGovern’s series, Accused. It’s also not the first time LMA students have worked with the trio as well.
Stephen Graham has been a huge supporter of LMA, delivering acting masterclasses for students and presenting the LMA 2019 Graduation ceremony. Sean Bean is no stranger to LMA having used LMA as a base for the production of ‘Broken’ and including students in many of the rehearsals and read throughs.
Co-Founder of LMA Richard Wallace said:
“we pride ourselves on our links to industry and give as many opportunities as possible to all our students so they gain as much practical knowledge and experience as possible whilst they study with us. We can’t thank Jimmy McGovern and his team enough for the opportunities they’ve given the students and it’s brilliant to see the amazing reviews the show is already receiving.
LMA Film & TV students have also been meeting up with Jimmy Mcgovern this week to film and record a podcast for The Mersey Waves Podcast in partnership with the Liverpool Film Office about his latest drama.
Film and TV student Ryan Tankard said:
“Jimmy was brilliant, he was great during the recordings but also wanted to know all about us and our own aspirations. The advice and encouragement he gave will stay with me forever”
Time is a 3 part series that started on Sunday 6th June at 9PM with the next episodes broadcast on the following two Sundays or available now on BBC IPlayer.
