The Florrie Men’s Walking Group and Florrie Staff are gearing up to take on an extraordinary challenge in the name of Men’s Mental Health Awareness and to support The Florrie, a charity at the heart of it’s community.
Starting on the 12th of October, over 40 men will embark on a 24-hour fundraising walk around Liverpool. This remarkable relay walk will start and finish at The Florrie, with each group undertaking a four-hour leg before passing the baton to the next team over the 24-hour period.
Men’s mental health remains an issue that deserves our utmost attention and care. The Florrie Men’s Walking Group and Florrie Staff recognise the urgency of this matter and have taken it upon themselves to lead by example. Their 24-hour walk symbolises the resilience and unity required to address mental health challenges within our community.
Tony Caveney, who leads The Florrie Men’s Walking Group said:
“We believe that by coming together as a community, we can make a tangible impact on men’s mental health. This event is an opportunity for everyone to rally behind this cause, whether through a small donation or a more substantial contribution. Every bit counts and will directly support the men who attend the walking group, which also offers a free counselling service. You can show your support and be a part of this journey by donating to the the fundraiser on GoFundMe. Together, we can inspire change and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by mental health challenges.”
The Florrie Men’s Walking Group walk every Monday and Friday from The Florrie at 10am. New members are always welcome, just come along and join in.
