This is your run down of the biggest and best events taking place in and around the city this week.
Calling all film buffs, quiz egg heads, students, footy fans, anyone with an Irish connection and those who love a good stein and pretzel, there’s plenty in store for you this week in Liverpool. There’s international footy, celeb’s don their boots For James and the Halloween fun gets a head start for families and big kids alike.

Monday 15th October

The Fashion of Counter Culture, John Lennon Art & Design Building
Fashion trends and Liverpool go together like salt and vinegar and The Fashion of Counter Culture exhibition at LJMU’s John Lennon Art & Design Building proves it. Go and see it this week for loads of ‘OMG REMEMBER THEM’ moments! Info here.
LOST £1 Party, Invisible Wind Factory
Resident DJ’s Dan Fresco, Liam Ross and Sam Parker will be bringing the beats to Invisible Wind Factory’s LOST £1 party on Tuesday night from 11pm. Expect visual screens, lasers and banging beats. Info and tickets here.
Flight Night Tuesdays, Craft Taproom

Vinyl Junkie Presents: Saint Agnes, The Shipping Forecast
Saint Agnes plays The Shipping Forecast on Wednesday night as part of their ‘The Death or Glory Gang’ tour. If you’re into garage/rock with Zepplin style swagger, this is the gig of the week for you. Tickets here.
Alice in Wonderland Social, LEVEL

Thursday 18th October
Sound & Silence Cinema: Metropolis, Tusk Baltic
There’s a night of stylised drama at Tusk Baltic on Thursday night as German science fiction flick, Metropolis is screened with live music, themed drinks plenty of popcorn and a fabulous atmosphere. Tickets here.
Jinkx Monsoon is Cursed, Hangar 34
Winner of the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jinkx Monsoon brings her new full length, one-woman show to Hangar 34 on Thursday at 7pm. Meet and greet from 6pm, show at 8pm. Tickets and info here.
Liverpool Irish Festival Launch
Liverpool Irish Festival, a 10 day celebration of our Irish heritage, kicks off this week at the Liverpool Irish Centre, Boundary Lane and obviously involves a big old bowl of Irish stew and a pint of the black stuff! More info here.
Friday 19th October
Oktoberfest at The Lodge, The Club House
There’s a free, two-day celebration of all things Bavarian this weekend as The Club House Lodge launches Oktoberfest. There’s live music and fab food and drinks packages and one seriously gorgeous venue to hang out in. Info here.
Sing-A-Long Cinema: Rocky Horror Show, CIRCO

Jack White, Space by Liverpool Echo Arena

The Vogue Ball, Invisible Wind Factory

A Charity Football Match, For James, Prenton Park
