This will be the new health craze of 2019 and you can do it here in Liverpool
5 years ago

Floatation therapy has become the newest health craze to captivate the nation and is set to be the most popular wellbeing trend for 2019.
With a new year comes new starts and as many embark on diets and joining their nearest gym, others will be investing in their wellbeing and turning to float therapy instead.
Float Planet is Liverpool’s first and only centre which opened in November to an overwhelming response.
Hundreds have already flocked to the Dale Street centre to experience the magic of floating for themselves from just £40 per individual float, or £65 for a two float ‘bring a friend’ package, and the popular £85 three float introductory offer.
Also known as R.E.S.T (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy), floating involves lying effortlessly on your back in a specially designed floatation tank that blocks out all external distractions including sight, sound, tactile sensations and gravity for an hour.
Those floating are completely in control of their surroundings and if they prefer, can have some light or sound throughout to make them feel more comfortable.
Credited to helping with muscle and joint pain, floatation therapy can also encourage creativity, aid with sport relief, and testing has shown that it can even help with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, stress, depression and anxiety.
More Liverpudlians have snapped up Christmas gift vouchers to ensure their loved ones get a spot of R&R over the busy festive season.
Floatation therapy is a huge sensation in America and has celebrity fans including Zac Efron and American star Joe Rogan.
Float Planet is home to three enormous floatation tanks and offers one hour long floats, with guests receiving complimentary towels, earplugs and various products that are available to use in its Vanity Room.
Michael Partington, 27, co-owner of Float Planet, said: “The amount of people floating in the UK is up each year and we’ve personally had a great start to opening in November. Float Planet is fully booked Thursday-Sunday most weeks and some week days are proving really popular too.”
Co-owner Lee Owens, 32, added: “We’re delighted with the response and expect a very busy year ahead of us at Float Planet. It’s fantastic that so many people understand what floating is all about and its amazing benefits.”
