Top 6 Places to Watch The Fireworks Across Merseyside This Bonfire Night

By Melanie Swash

Bonfire night is our second fave night of the year (Christmas Eve will never be beaten), and with so many great firework shows happening this year from the Birkenhead to Southport, it’s hard to choose which one to go to.

Here’s our top 6 places to see the fireworks across Merseyside this year:

1 –  River of Light, River Mersey

This is set to be the biggest firework event Liverpool has ever seen. This will be a chance for people in Liverpool and the Wirral to enjoy one big event together and see the River Mersey in a whole new light. This event starts at 4:00pm on the 5th November; there will be street entertainment in different locations throughout Liverpool. And the firework show itself will be held at the waterfront and is scheduled to start at 6.30pm. This event is bound to go off with a bang.

Watch: All the info you need about this Bonfire Night extravaganza on the River of Light here.

2 – The Plough Inn, Ormskirk

Why not head down to The Plough Inn, Ormskirk, on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of November and enjoy two evenings of family fun. They will be hosting a firework event with absolutely tonnes of activities for the kids from entertainers and face painters to craft tables and rides. Plus a hog roast and BBQ! The event starts at 5pm with fireworks scheduled to start at 7:30. Tickets priced at £4 for adults and £2 for kids are available from the pub itself.

3 – Southport Pleasureland

If you’re a fan of the fairground then this is the event for you. Southport Pleasureland will be hosting their own bonfire and firework display for free on November 5th. What makes this event even better is that you can still have a go on all your favourite rides and they will only be one token each for this event. The bonfire will be lit at 6:00pm and the fireworks will start at 7:00pm. Check out all the info here.

4 – Birkenhead Park

Remember remember the 6th November by attending a community firework display in Birkenhead Park on Sunday evening. This will be a great event for local families to get together in a safe space for everyone to enjoy the fireworks together. The display is scheduled to start at 6:30pm and finish at 7:00pm. More info here.

5 – Round Tables Charity Fireworks Display, Victoria Park, Southport

This event will take place in Victoria Park, Southport on November 5th. The event starts at 5pm and will host live music and a hog roast as well as rides and stalls. The firework display is scheduled to start at 8:00pm. Southport Hesketh Round Table arrange this night in order to raise money for charities such as Alder Hey’s Children’s charity and Southport Samaritans. Adult tickets cost £7, under 11’s £3 and under 5’s go free.

6 – Clock Face Fireworks Display, St Helens

Not just a fireworks display, the Clock Face Pub and Restaurant event offers families so much more. From tasty BBQ food to live music performances, DJ’s and a fun fair……..AND fireworks! This Bonfire extravaganza begins at 5pm on Friday 4th November with tickets priced at £3.50. Get yours here!
