#TrendingLiverpool – August 9th: What was happening on twitter last week?

So August is upon us and lots happening so far. Jeremy Corbyn turned up to St Georges Hall to massive crowds, Liverpool Loves dominated the Pier Head, and we seen Rio open the Summer Olympics. It’s all going on… So here is your twitter summary of recent events from a scouse perspective.

Whatever you think of Jeremy Corbyn – Plenty turned out to see him at St Georges Hall

Meanwhile, people were quick to draw comparisons to his rival, Owen Smith and his earlier rally in Liverpool

The leadership debate ends in Liverpool in September so no doubt the city will hear more about this one!

Meanwhile, here is what else you may have missed:

The Beatles groundbreaking Album, Revolver, Turned 50 years old this week. At the time it once again revolutionised music and shocked and wowed listeners.

Scouse Bird Problems gave girls advice that will have certainly angered men around the city

James Sutton, currently of Hollyoaks fame, did a video this week that is well worth watching and sharing. #TeamAcko

I LOVE this picture!

Inspirational stuff

So the Pier Head hasn’t only been booming during the weekend, it was booming all week. The Liverpool Village is smashing it on the water front, the place is booming and there is even a free bus picking people up in and around town to take them down to our waterfront.

In other areas of the city, despite a fair bit of public objection, the demolition of the Futurist on Lime Street went ahead

This is brilliant

Fair point..

John Barnes did this on his way to watch Liverpool in Wembley
