The UK’s entry for the much-anticipated song contest, known as Look Mum No Computer,  has been congratulated on the birth of his baby.

The British Eurovision entry, whose real name is Sam Battle, will take part in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in a few weeks.

The musician announced the birth on social media with a picture of his child, named Max, wearing a yellow hat.

In the post, he said:

“Speak soon everyone. Max born today happy healthy. Back on it soon. Take care.”

Look Mum No Computer will perform his song Eins, Zwei, Drei, at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria in May.

Congratulating the singer on the birth of his son, BBC Eurovision said:

“A huge congratulations to UK Eurovision act Sam Battle and his wife on the birth of baby Max born yesterday.”

Belgian entrant Essyla, whose real name is Alice Van Eesbeeck, also commented on the post, saying:

“Most adorable baby ever seen.”

Look Mum No Computer was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire and began his career on YouTube back in 2013. He is best known for his videos about making unusual electronic music equipment.

The musician has gained more than 85 million views and 1.4 million combined subscribers and followers across his various social accounts.

The singer has previously made a name for himself by creating unique works, such as making an organ out of Furby toys and fusing a synthesiser with a Raleigh Chopper bicycle. He has also made a triple oscillator synthesiser out of Nintendo Game Boy video game consoles.

The music video for this Eurovision song showcases the singer in a messy office wearing a suit, before leaving the workplace for a big electronic soundboard as he sings about “coming back to life”.

This year will be the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and will take place at Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle, after Austrian entry JJ won in 2025 with his song Wasted Love, on Saturday, May 16.

The much-loved contest’s semi-finals will take place May 12 and 14, with it being broadcast live across BBC One and iPlayer, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
